LED street lighting is a set of green lighting and intelligent lighting, also the main way for future road lighting. In the practical application of LED lamp, lamp radiation is directly related to the reliability of the lamp and always a technical problem to be solved. Thermal research and optimization design of high power led street lamp by simulation used COMSOL Multiphysics is aimed to improve the quality of light, prolong the service life, and eventually realize the effectiveness of energy-saving lighting.In this paper, 50 W high power LED street lamp was taken as the research object, of which the general physical model and mathematical model was studied. Then the lamp radiating channel, analytical expressions of thermal resistance network and steady-state temperature was given. By two methods of experiment and simulation, heat dissipation of the lamp in the natural convection at 20 ? was investigated and calculated, of which the result showed: the substrate temperature was 70 ?; the lamp surface temperature distribution was uneven; the whole lamp cooling effect was not good enough to reach the requirements. Lastly, the influence on the heat dissipation of lamp radiator, radiator fin and lamp matrix material was analyzed and discussed. Especially, for the radiator fin size and lighting of each part of material, orthogonal experimental design and the corresponding optimization scheme was obtained. According to the factors of the radiating impact analysis, comprehensive thermal optimization of 50 W high power LED street lamp was obtained, and the highest temperature of lamps after optimization was reduced by about 30 ? than before. Based on optimization model of 50 W high power LED street lamp, comprehensive radiation optimization scheme of high-power LED street lamps with the power of 90 W, 120 W, 150 W, 200 W also were established.
