In recent years, UAV(unmanned aerial vehicle) has been more and more widely used in military and civil fields. Because of its advantages of vertical take-off and landing, fixed hovering and good low-altitude low-speed performance and so on, ducted rotor UAV has become one of the most widely used UAV. The objective of this article is to design the compound ducted coaxial rotor UAV testing platform.According to the design requirements of aircraft, design aircraft conceptual structure, and expound requirements and details of design for the rotor system, power transmission system, the main beam and the fuselage structure. On the basis of the requirement of coaxial rotor aircraft structure, put forward the upper and lower rotor buckle design. The upper and lower rotor are respectively driven by the power device independent of each other, using the synchronous toothed belt for power transmission. This simplifies the design of power transmission mechanism. Analysis and calculate rotor system power, and determine the selection of the engine by the electric motor driving the rotor system verification test. By analyzing the aircraft structure stress, design cross beams and the tricycle landing gear structure. Aircraft fuselage is designed as blended wing body with the ducted coaxial rotor system embedded in the middle. On the premise of good structural strength, aircraft fuselage adopts the block structure design. And it’s convenient for testing, installation, debugging and transportation. According to the requirements of aircraft flight performance, configure aircraft avionics and flight control system. Through the engine power test, aerodynamic lift test and aircraft ground tethered test, analyses the aerodynamic characteristics of ducted coaxial rotor, determine the selection of the engine, the parameters of rotor blade and aerodynamic configuration design. The experiment provide practical basis for the development of aircraft design.Through this article, it completed the compound ducted coaxial rotor UAV design, and verified that the scheme is feasible, effective and reliable.
