The ground effect target drone refers to a special aircraft, which use the powerful ground effects to support the aircraft flying above the ground or water at very low altitude, by remoting or flying on the path which be preset, simulates the hostile aircraft or missile in a military training or a weapon test, also can be a target for a counter ultra low altitude attack experiment or training, for the researching of critical technologies of altitude penetration.Based on the existing target drone desinged by our laboratory, according to the principle of the ground effect and the aerodynamic characteristics, considering the actual demand of the project, reducing the cost of the mass production, we designed a new kind of drone target which be good at flying in the area under the influence of the ground effect. There are lots of improvements based on the present. The key is to better adapt to the stable requirements of the ground effect flight control, then we add some necessary sensors, such as the radio altimeter and vertical accelerometer; according to the weak on the characteristics of longitudinal stability in the ground effect flight period, the control law of the altitude had be designed based on the variable structure control with sliding mode, make the ground effect target drone flying more safe and effective, make the ground effect flying more stabable, which is validated by the simulation.Finally, introduced the composition and software, the whole structure of ground control system, which would be helpful to further research work.
