Active Distribution Network is essentially the distribution network of “once active, the second initiative”, it has two main features of “active” and “initiative”. Because of the access of a massive distributed generation to the distribution network, the voltage distribution and network loss have been the most two important performance indicators under the premise of the total consumption of renewable energy. The coordination and optimization target of the Active Distribution Network is to reduce the network loss while the voltage distribution is reasonable through the active regulation method. The paper studies the operation and active regulation method of the Active Distributio n Network according to its characters and coordination and optimization target.Firstly, the paper constructs a quadratic function of the voltage drop and the network loss rate through the analysis of the voltage distribution and network loss of distribution network with the access of distributed generation, and puts forward a quantitative analysis method base on the quadratic function which has different interval monotonicity in different ranges. The paper has in-depth study on the impact of the voltage distribution and network loss of distribution network with the access of distributed generation from the analysis of the trends when the corresponding three arguments the access capacity, access location and power factor.belong to different monotone interval. And then it establishes the overhead line model to demonstrate the correctness of the quantitative analysis conclusions. Furthermore, it summarizes the active access strategy advice of the distributed generation.Secondly, according to the distributed ge neration is often unable to have the access to the ideal point, we need to have a further study of active regulation strategy of the accessed distributed generation. It establishes the controlled DG coordination and optimization model to improve the performance of the voltage distribution and network loss of the ADN, at the same time, considering the load fluctuation and intermittent energy change. The paper makes good use of the efficacy coefficient method to solve multi-objective problems and adds the chaotic search mechanism in the particle optimization(PSO) algorithm to put forward CPSO based on the Tent Mapping. This algorithm can be used to solve the model. When the uncontrolled DG intermittent power output changes too large, the distribution network cannot have the total consumption of renewable energy directly. So the paper studies the "uncontrolled DG + energy storage device" optimization problem. Considering the uncontrolled DG power output characteristics, the rational allocation of storage capacity and power and the control strategy of the energy charge and discharge, the paper establishes the optimization mathematical model and its solution algorithm to reduce the output power fluctuation of the uncontrolled DG.Lastly, the mathematical models and optimization methods are applied to the examples for the simulation analysis. The simulation results verify the correctness and validity of the mathematical models and optimization methods in the paper.
