The Symbiosis Of New And Old Buildings

Recalling the history of urban development, China's urban construction developed rapidly, constantly updated and reformed. On the one hand, as time goes on, the function of the building also changed necessarily; On the other hand, with the rapidly developing of the economy, the achievements we have made in construction activity is also quite different, it can not be compared in the past ten centuries. This will inevitably produce a lot of new problems:For example, how to deal with the relationship between old and new buildings? How to make the new building truly integrate into the environment of the original building? How to highlight the personality of the new building? How to make the new and old buildings coexist?In this paper, the symbiosis theory is used as the theoretical basis and practical method, with the new and old buildings as the research object. Starting from the relationship between architectural space, architectural features and the Site atmosphere, this paper studies the connotation and function of the symbiosis theory in the coexistence of the old and new buildings. Through the analysis of symbiosis theory, combined with the cases, the design strategy and the expression method are sorted out.And designing a practical engineering case as practical exploration.
