So far, more than 30 countries word wild have engaged in the research and production of unmanned aerial vehicles(UAV),and in more than 50 countries UAVs are in use. UAV will play an important role in the future battle.Based on the problems that the planned trajectory can not meet the conditions of the UAV's flight dynamics constraint, an improved ant colony algorithm for UAV three dimensional trajectory planning based on Dubins curves is proposed. A FlightGear-based UAV formation air-to-ground engagement visual simulation system is designed. Comprehensive management terminal, UAV terminal and the 3D scene display unit are included in the system. The display of UAV formation flight is intuitively. At the same time,the system provides an effective platform for the validation for the trajectory planning of formation.Firstly, this thesis analyzes the development of formation for unmanned aerial vehicle, the research status of visual flight simulation technology and the progress of trajectory, then the FlightGear-based UAV formation air-to-ground engagement visual simulation system is proposed. Secondly, the architecture and data transmission mode of the whole system are introduced, which uses Two-dimensional map display technology based on MAPX. Then, by use of the AC3 D software of 3D modeling, the UAV 3D model is constructed, through the configuration file to complete loading and action setting about UAV model in FlightGear software, and uses the external input/output interface of FlightGear software to realize the interaction of the data from the developed interfaces. render effects.On the platform of the VC++, the ground comprehensive management terminal and the terminal of UAV are established.The ground comprehensive management terminal planning trajectory,and the flight control data calculated by the path tracking algorithm is transferred to the UAV simulink dynamic model,and resolved to flight data.The flight data generate UAV's visual flight by transfer to FlightGear of loading UAV model driving by the external data. Those flight control data come from the ground comprehensive management terminal. Finally, their scenes display on big LCD screen through visual units, realize the whole formation flight simulation of 3D visualization.Throught debugging and running the system, the result show that the system reaches expected target, the simulation run smoothly. It gives the real visual effects in real-time simulation.
