The studies of solid-liquid two-phase centrifugal pumps and centrifugal pumps with long and short vanes have made great achievements in China. But there are few studies on the solid-liquid two-phase flow in the centrifugal pumps with long and short vanes. The innovation and starting point is the combination of the two aspects. In order to study the flow field and flow pattern of solid-fluid phase flowing in the general centrifugal pump and centrifugal pumps with long and short vanes. The Fluent software is used to simulate the solid-liquid two-phase flow field in the two kinds of centrifugal pumps.Comparing the pressure and particle distribution. The results showed that:Whether the general centrifugal pump or the centrifugal pump with long and short vanes, did the static pressure and total pressure reach minimum at the inlet of the blades. They both increased alone the flow direction, and reached the maximum at the outlet of the blades. The particle density decreased in the centrifugal pump with long and short vanes, so that the anti-wear of the pumps is improved significantly. The area of the high particle density became smaller obviously, which decreased the influence of vibration and other instabilities, so that the pump could go on more smoothly. The distribution of the particles was more uniform in the centrifugal pump with long and short vanes, so that the flow condition was better. The pressure and particle density distribution was more uniform with the reducing of the short vanes' length appropriately, the density was reduced and the density values changed smaller. So that the flow loss reduced greatly, the flow condition was better. The conclusion could provide important theoretical basis for reducing the wear and loss of centrifugal pumps.
