These years,earthquake has caused great damage all around the world.And the study of structure isolation device has attracted more and more scholar's attention.This article is on the background of a cable stayed bridge in the city,and the finite element model is established by SAP2000.This article has analysed the damping effect of the combination use of rubber bearings and viscous dampers by compare seismic response of the cable stayed bridge before and after isolation. It gave a basis for the combination use of rubber bearings and viscous dampers. It not only provide the reference for the design of long-span cable-stayed bridge,but also gave a basis for the combination use of rubber bearings and viscous dampers.The conclusion of the paper follows:1.Fluid viscous damper only increase structural damping but not structural stiffness.the seismic response of Y direction is smaller,but the seismic response of Y direction and Z direction is greater when we only consider the earthquake of X direction.2.The result of response spectrum is greater than the result of time history,so we should choose a reasonable means to analyse when we design the isolation, we can choose the response spectrum to design,and choose the time history to check.when only we use the laminated rubber bearing,The seismic response is greater for lack of the isolation devices,but when we apply combination use of laminated rubber bearings and fluid viscous damper,internal force response and displacement response of the structure can reduce significantly.3.When we keep the support stiffness constant,tower top displacement and tower bottom bending moment decreased with the increase of the damping coefficient. And then it reaches a minimum value,If we continued to raise the damping coefficient,tower top displacement and tower bottom bending moment showed an increasing tendency.In practical engineering, isolation mounting should be optimized when we consider the project cost and in order to reach the purpose of optimum.
