As the growth of the requirements of energy and depleting of the fossil fuels, Global energy gradually tend to a new clean development and the new energy technology has been the concern of the community. The new energy automotive high-tech industries which is supported by the government has been developing rapidly in recent years. China is tend to be the biggest market of the electric vehicle. The main technology of EV include battery management, motor and control, vehicle control system and lightweight vehicle technology. As the core component of EV, the performance of the motor is relation to the energy saving and high efficient operation. In this paper, a novel low-speed high-torque motor was presented as the improved of a traditional PMSM which utilize the effect of flux-modulation. Simulation analysis of the operation performance is carried out with different control strategies at the same time. In the end, a servo-motor controller is designed in the use of ASIC for motor drive which is produced by TI.First, on account of the characteristic of the serious flux leakage in the fluxmodulation PM motor, the magnetic circuit structure of rotor is changed. A 2D finite element model is established and steady electromagnetic simulation is carried out by Ansoft. The no load characteristic of the motor is compared in the situation before and after improved, including no-load EMF, cogging torque, flux, air gap flux density. The stationary performance is analyzed, including the loss of the motor, torque angle characteristics, power factor, efficiency, etc.Second, a variety of PMSM control strategy is studied and various control systems are established based on Simplorer. Including the simple id=0 control, fuzzy PI control, flux-weakening control, direct torque control, direct torque and space vector pulse width modulation combination control, based on the MRAS speed sensorless control. The mathematical model of the new PMSM is used to simulate for the control performance. According to the simulation parameters debugged by the system and the utilize the joint simulation of Ansoft and Simplorer, in consideration of the motor in the inverter power supply and non-sinusoidal air gap flux density and silicon steel sheet by the saturation level, a direct axis inductance of cross coupling, iron loss and other influence, the dynamic performance of the motor and the control system adjustment ability is analyzed.Finally, according to the theoretical analysis, a servo-motor controller is designed based on TMSF2812 and the electric schematic diagram and PCB board are presented, the program is designed by CCS and accomplish the circuit board welding commissioning. For the intelligent design of the servo controller. Two man-machine communication interface are designed by Matlab and Lab VIEW to realize the function of real-time control and display of the motor.
