The huge domestic auto industry has brought many opportunities and challenges to the development of auto parts market,especially in the present situation that the emission regulations are increasingly stringent,and the environmental problems are becoming seriously destroyed.As the key part of the diesel engine fuel system,the performance of the diesel fuel filter is a direct impact on the service life of the diesel engine and the emission.The current domestic filter industry market has a very fierce competition,and the product quality is also uneven.Compared to the foreign filter research and development,the domestic filter has a certain gap in the quality and technology.The flow resistance performance of the diesel filter is always the key factor,which directly affects the fuel supply of diesel engine.In this paper,the flow-resistance test and CFD simulation are combined,to research and analyze flow-resistance performance of a diesel filter.By understanding the types and performance parameters of filter media,the basic parameters of several fuel filter papers have been measured in this paper.After comparison,a filter paper,which has good performance parameters and paper uniformity,is selected for the following flow-resistance test and CFD simulation.So there is a need to understand the knowledge of CFD.And the test results should be used to get the relevant parameters of CFD simulation.According to the relevant test standards and the basis of previous studies,this paper provides related suggestions for the flow-resistance test.The hardware equipment and data acquisition software of this test system are designed.The stability of this test bench is confirmed to ensure the feasibility of test.Results are obtained after the full test steps,viscous and inertial resistance coefficients can be calculated from the result data fitting equations.Those two coefficients are the keys for the CFD simulation.Before the filter paper simulation model is established by HyperMesh and CATIA,relevant hypotheses are given by this paper.CFD simulation software Fluent is used to set various model parameters and simulation calculation.After simulation,the calculated results need to be compared with the experimental results,it turns out that the simulation model is reasonable.Then,the internal and external radius of filter element are changed in this simulationmodel,and calculated respectively.And after the simulations were done,the influence of internal and external radius changing on diesel flow pressure and velocity are discussed.According to simulation results,it’s considered that the internal radius shouldn’t be designed too small and the external radius shouldn’t be designed too large.
