Priority to public transit is the significant method to improve the efficiency of traffic resource utilization and ease traffic congestion. As a signal timing optimization techniques which give priority to bus, transit signal priority played a significant role in improving the bus service and the attraction of public transport system. In order to guarantee the smooth of the artery, it is often used the arterial signal coordination control methods. The arterial coordination optimize optimization is optimized the phase difference and green wave width according to the social flow. On this condition it may interrupt the arterial coordination traffic flow by using the methods of green time extension and red time off early to carry out bus priority. Thus, it has significant meaning to combine the bus priority into the arterial coordination control with the least influence on the original signal timing. This paper mainly studies the coordination control of bus priority from the following three aspects.Firstly, under the constraint condition of incoordination phase saturation, the coordination with bus priority is studied on the condition of bus lanes. Based on this, the relationship between the interval times of bus arrived and the green time of coordinate phase was analyzed. The methods of green light extension, green light ahead of time was discussed to provide to bus priority so that bus can be success pass with no stopping under greater probability.Secondly, considered the approaches of bus priority signal control in the cooperative vehicle infrastructure system, took the signal timing adjustment and bus speed guiding into consideration to demonstrate the transit signal priority coordination control. By judging whether the bus delayed in the variable lead area to regular the green light extension time, integrate bus speed guiding to realize the transit signal priority coordination control in the cooperative vehicle infrastructure system. The effectiveness of coordinated control method is validated through simulation.Finally, in order to make bus and rail transit to achieve transfer coordinate, bus priority is studied to decide whether it should be implemented. Based on the analysis of the transfer coordination and operating relationship between bus transit and rail transit, calculated the bus priority and the equivalent number of passengers of bus transit and un-transit, after that interval type-2 fuzzy logic controller has been designed to decide whether bus priority should be implement.
