As a national historical and cultural city, Tianjin remains a large number of historical buildings, in which general protection buildings amounts to 69% of the total. For general protection buildings, we generally retain the facades and reconstruct the interior to protect the whole structure. But there is no existing design methods or norms for the reconstruction. Therefore, this article conducts a computational analysis to give some reference for the relevant design staff. The main research work and achievements are as follows:(1) The number and arrangement of the connecting member are determined by EATBS software. Facades can be hingedly connected to the inner frame beams or columns by the connecting member. The number of connections can be approximately determined by the floor response spectrum method.(2) The seismic design method of structure is determined by EATBS software. We can add the quality of facades to the pure frame for seismic design.(3) The proposed values and ranges of period reduction coefficient are determined by EATBS software. During such structural design, the values can be around 0.8 for less floors or smaller column spaces and around 0.55 for more floors or bigger column spaces. According to different circumstances, we can choose it from 0.55 to 0.8.(4) By static nonlinear analysis Pushover, it can prove that reinforcement structure has good distortion performance to meet the requirements of elastic-plastic deformation and meet the requirements for the resistance of rare earthquake.(5) It puts forward solutions of the bearing capacity of foundation and foundation deformation control. The bearing capacity of foundation can be approximately determined by getting the soil report by nearby exploration test, using the nearby project soil report or using the equivalent load method. It proposes solutions to the conflict of exterior wall foundation and frame column foundation.
