Micro-optics element has the advantages of light quality, small volume, easy to array, etc. Therefore it is the key to form small optoelectronic system components. Many traditional optical components are difficult to realize the same function as of micro-optics elements, such as small size, array, imaging and integration. For micro lens array is widely used in the optical imaging system, image sensor, optical lithography and widely used in the field of optical communication and so on, micro lens array has been the focus of research. Including traditional lithography, many methods have been used to make nano or micro scale development of micro lens, but they are faced with high cost and long time. Therefore, it is in urgent need of development of simpler and cheaper alternative technologies. In this paper, based on the simple process of reversible transition into water and ice, we have made large area neat polymer polydimethylsiloxane(PDMS) micro lens array. During the experiments, firstly we soak the quartz glass substrates in hydrogen peroxide solution with sulfuric acid, then immerse them with the perfluorinated decyl cross-linked with silane and hexane solution. In order to increase the surface hydrophobicity, we use polystyrene(PS)/polyvinyl pyrrolidone(PVP) as membrane material, chloroform as low boiling point solvents, condensed water droplets as the template, under certain conditions using the water droplet template to prepare a neat orderly honeycomb porous PS membrane. In combination with micro stamping technology, we use flexible PDMS with low surface free energy and good performance to copy orderly porous PS membrane, and get PDMS templates. Then we apply the method proposed by professor White discontinuous wetting and transformation of water and ice reversible transition process system to the polymer micro lens. The whole experiment process technology is simple, almost doesn’t need professional technology; PDMS elastic template not only can be repeatedly used, but uneasy to damage, and the cost is low. By means of optical microscope and scanning electron microscope(SEM) for characterization of polymer microlens arrays in detail, micro lens array morphology is neat.
