With the rapid development of the aerospace industry, the space satellite antennas have higher requirements in large diameter, light weight, high precision and so on, also due to the volume limitation of the aerial vehicle, the satellite antennas are almost deployable structures. As the ideal form of antenna structures because of lots of advantages such as large diameter, light quality and good stability of the signal, etc., loop truss antenna have received wide attention by many countries in the field of aerospace research. For loop truss antenna it is necessary to ensure that it can proceed smoothly in space and the cable network can reach the requirements of surface. Also it is necessary to ensure that when the process terminates, the satellite antennas are not damaged by mutation load or other factors and interfered the control system, so the kinematics and dynamics of loop antenna deployment process have great significance to study.Based on the structural characteristics of the loop truss antenna, the deployment process of antenna has been analyzed. Include the following aspects:Based on the structural characteristics of the loop truss antenna, parametric modeling of radial antenna model have been finished, the mathematical expressions of each cable segment have been obtained. Through a simulation example, the tension situations of every cable segment are obtained.Using the method of coordinate transformation, the transformation matrix of truss loop antenna has been established, and the coordinate and velocity components of each truss unit have been got. Based on the Second Largange equation, the dynamic model of the loop antenna has been established and the effect of the cable network also has been considered. Through numerical simulation, the force of the driving rope has been got.Using ADAMS software, a virtual prototype model of the loop antenna has been built. Through projecting the perspective of the antenna deployment, the movements of each truss unit and the tension situations of each cable segment all have been described, so the basis for theoretical modeling are provided.
