Traffic safety problem has been one of the significant researches over the world,and large number of casualties and property losses happen every year on the roads and highway at all levels because of the malignant traffic accidents.At present,our country has gradually completed the freeway traffic safety facilities design standards and specifications,as highway malignant accident has been effectively controlled.However,traffic safety problem has not been taken seriously in more design index lower roads(below 3 and 3 highway),especially the special nodes of lower level highway,such as existing roadside disturbance and characteristics of traffic accidents in urban-rural fringe on roads and rural roads.It should be strengthen to related theoretical researches for guiding the construction of the traffic safety.One of the main reasons for malignant traffic accidents in the integration of a urban and rural roads is that the transverse interference cased by Pedestrians,who would cross the street at random among the highway of vehicles.At present,there are still lack of the individual crossing behavior characteristics researches aimed at these two special roads at home and broad.After concluding the related researches about traffic safety and pedestrian traffic behavior theory models,the paper analysis the shortage of related researches at home and abroad,and propose to study traffic behavior characteristics in these two special low-grade roads when events happened between pedestrians and cars by using highway traffic conflict theory and pedestrian crossing time characteristics normally by using survival theory model.Based on local field survey data in 7provinces(municipalities directly under the central government)like ChongQing,The paper analysis the traffic conflict numbers and risks in rural-urban and town-village roads refer to traffic conflict theory.Besides,the paper also analysis the pedestrian behavior characteristics in traffic conflicts combined with composition of traffic flow and pedestrian volume,and pedestrian speed and acceleration when people encounter the conflicts between humans and vehicles.According to the basic features of pedestrians crossing the street,the paper study the pedestrian crossing time characteristics normally and periodically in low-grade rural-urban and town-village roads by using survival theory model,regress the survival function and density function in Matlab,and analysis the influencing factors in pedestrian crossing by using the Cox proportional hazards model.Finally,based on the research results above,the paper propose to improve the thoughts and comprehensive security assurance strategy combined with domestic traffic problems in low-grade rural-urban and town-village roads.It is vitally significant and creative to provide the guidance in improving and modifing traffic assurance,reduceing conflicts,decreasing the roadside disturbance,guaranteeing pedestrian and vehicle's safety in these two special roads.
