The water storage of the Three Gorges reservoir has greatly improved the shipping environment in the reservoir area,the channel level has been improved,the trend of upsizing ships has been greatly improved,greatly improving the efficiency of the Yangtze River shipping,and promoting the development of the economic belt along the Yangtze River.But above the Fuling reach with fluctuating backwater area of the Three Gorges,it restores to the natural rivers during the period of low level and the improvement of channel conditions is limited,so large ships can not upstream to the port of Chongqing,this hinders the development of the Three Gorges ship's benefit.In order to play the Yangtze golden waterway shipping benefits,promote the construction of the Yangtze River economic belt.It is very necessary to carry out the Waterway regulation works between Fuling and Chongqing reach in the Three Gorges fluctuating backwater area,to upgrade the channel scale of the fluctuating backwater area as soon as possible.This paper based on a large amount of field data analysis,using two-dimensional mathematical model of water and sediment,detailedly studied the river channel sedimentation characteristics and navigation obstructing characteristics in the Three Gorges backwater region,and launched a discussion about the recent waterway promotable standards and waterway construction schemes,which provided technical support for the navigation channel regulation in the Three Gorges fluctuating backwater area.The specific work of this paper is as follows:(1)It has a detailed analysis of the Sediment deposition and channel conditions in the upper reaches of the Yangtze River and the development of the shipping economy in the reservoir area of the Three Gorges Project.And the channel governance standards of the Three Gorges fluctuating backwater area in the current stage has also been proposed.(2)By using the 2-D flow and sediment mathematical model,the Three Gorges Reservoir during the early operation of sediment deposition in the development trend and its influence on navigation conditions has been calculated and analyzed,and the feasibility of carrying out the channel regulation and improving the channel level in the Chongqing to Fuling reach of the Three Gorges fluctuating backwater area has been demonstrated.(3)Based on the analysis of the field data as well as the study results of the water and sediment mathematical model,the general idea of improving the channel scale in the Three Gorges fluctuating backwater area are proposed,and according to the main hinder navigation features and riverbed evolution characteristics of each dangerous shoal,the waterway regulation measures are put forward.By means of the 2-D flow and sediment mathematical model,the renovation project of each shoal have been demonstrated and optimized,and the construction plan of the channel level increases of the Chongqing to Fuling reach has been Comprehensively proposed.
