This paper mainly based on "The 12th Five-year" national science and technology support project-the key technology research of The Three Gorges's perennial streamwise shipping engineering construction,and took this research's fourth special subject-deepwater wharf rock-socketed pile foundation bearing characters and design technology study as research background to analysis steel liners rocks embedded bearing properties of pile foundation of The Three Gorges reservoir area overhead and vertical wharf by combing the indoor physical model test with theoretical analysis.On the other hand,considering the different horizontal loads,the bearing properties of ordinary and steel liners rocks embedded pile foundation under different pile spacing have been researched respectively.The main research works and research results of this paper include the following aspects:(1)in order to provide necessary support of this paper's indoor physical model test and theoretical analysis,we found and examined many related literatures to analysis the the bearing properties of ordinary and steel liners rocks embedded pile foundation and its load transfer mechanism,bearing characteristics and common failure mode.(2)making test planning according to the requirement of this subject and combined with the design data of Chongqing port Orchard second phase expansion project.According to the similarity theory knowledge and the related test procedures,the determine of similar scale and the choose of materials of indoor physical model test have been done.And then design and make physical model pile and soil foundation.Last,make load test of graded loading level to obtain relevant data.(3)in order to acknowledge the characters and distribution rules of the displacement of bearing center of top-pile,the displacement of borehole of pile,the strain of pile,the bending moment of pile,the strain of soil foundation,the displacement of pile of ordinary rocks embedded pile foundation under horizontal loading condition,the data of physical model test of ordinary rocks embedded pile foundation under different pile spacing(1.5D?2.5D?3.5D)has been disposed and analyzed by this paper as well as the failure model of this testing model.(4)in order to acknowledge the characters and distribution rules of the displacement of bearing center of top-pile,the displacement of borehole of pile,the strain of pile,the bending moment of pile,the strain of soil foundation,the displacement of pile of steel liners rocks embedded pile foundation under horizontal loading condition,the data of physical model test of steel liners rocks embedded pile foundation under different pile spacing(1.5D?2.5D?3.5D)has been disposed and analyzed by this paper as well as the failure model of this testing model.(5)through the contrastive analysis of horizontal loading rule of physical model test of within or without steel liners rocks embedded pile foundation under different pile pacing(1.5D?2.5D?3.5D),which included the horizontal displacement and failure model of within or without steel liners rocks embedded pile foundation,the result shows that steel liners could restrain the horizontal displacement of rocks embedded pile foundation effectively.Meanwhile,steel liners could relieve the ring tensile fracture which caused by concentration of stress of ordinary rocks embedded pile foundation effectively.However,the lower part of pile cap of steel liners rocks embedded pile foundation could generate shear failure.
