The automobile instrument panel including function,safety and decoration is the most important part of the automobile interior system.At present,with the improvement of people's quality requirements of the automobile and the continuous reduction of the automobile manufacturing costs,the co-pilot side airbag is no longer the exclusive of luxury cars.Usually the safety air bag module is developed as a subsystem of the instrument panel,which is installed on the instrument panel through the bracket and other components,and there is a visual assembly line in the matching of the air bag decorative cover and the instrument panel.In recent years,more and more of the instrument panel is designed as a hidden airbag instrument panel without visual assembly line,and ensure that the airbag can open normally.The safety air bag is directly assembled on the instrument panel body by the mounting bracket which is welded to the instrument panel,and the corresponding area of the instrument panel is weakened,and the front surface of the instrument panel cannot see the weakening trace.When the automobile collides,the instrument panel smoothly tears along the weakening line,and the airbag unfold fully,so as to protect the passenger.The hidden airbag instrument panel including both safety and aesthetics,is the inevitable trend of the development of the instrument panel.The manufacturing process of the weakening line processing is one of the core technologies of the instrument panel with hidden airbag.At present,milling cutter weakening and hot knife cutter weakening are widely used in the weakening process.The milling cutter weakening requires that the parts have enough strength,and do not apply processing instrument leather separately.The machining precision of milling cutter is influenced obviously by temperature,so that the processing quality is not steady;Hot knife processing is not flexible,one set of tools only for one instrument panel,and the weakening trace is visible because of the wide machining gap.The laser weakening is developed in recent years as a new plastic cutting technology,it can strictly control the residual thickness,and have the advantages of high precision,besides there are not obvious traces of weakening at the front surface of the instrument panel.So that the instrument panel using laser weakening processing will be more and more popular.Based on the development of the instrument panel with hidden airbag and the engineering application of laser weakening,the structure optimization and experimental verification are completed,including the introduction of development process,a brief analysis of key technology,the product structure design and the experimental verification.In addition,deep research on static expand test of airbag is conducted,and through exploring the principle of laser weakening processing and influencing factors of residual thickness,the relationship between the process parameters and the residual thickness is obtained,that provides strong support for the development of laser weakening process.In order to exploring the influence of instrument panel material,weakening process parameters,weakening line position and structure design on airbag expand performance,an airbag expand test verification plan is developed,through the comparative analyses of the experimental results,the optimal laser weakening process parameters are obtained,and the airbag expand performance has reached the requirements of mass production.
