As the distributed power supply and renewable energy technology is being developed rapidly, the macro grid system is being developed to reduce the pressures on power supply systems. The power planning and operation department is moving their focuses on optimal operation solutions along the time for the micro-grid system which could reduce the investments and operate economically. The initial idea was to achieve the goal of the economic power supply solution. The new demand for optimizing the scheduling of micro-grid system to achieve the economic and environment-friendly operation is raising at the same time. From the previous researches, there is a research gap on combining the nature of micro-grid system and the optimal scheduling methods together. The recent developments and applications on the AI optimization algorithm is providing new perspectives on solving the power supply system operation problems. Based on the traditional power system optimal operation, combining with the technical characteristics of the macro grid system and the applications of intelligent optimization of new technology, a concrete solution on solving the economic running model of micro-grid could be addressed.In this paper, a detailed analysis on the research status of mathematical modeling will be provided. Also, a general topology and operation mode of micro-grid will be described in detail. By introducing the new concepts of the optimal power flow solutions, the current economic running model establishment method and the research situation, the discussions on the genetic algorithm of content with the nature of micro-grid system will also be addressed. Furthermore, to abstract the optimal operation of micro-grid system into an economic running model, would approve the idea of the optimal power flow. Meanwhile, the concept of the model will be applied to the micro-grid system with certain innovation and explore the model with a proven use case. In addition, a detailed analysis on practical problems of micro-grid system optimal operation, fluctuation of load and power, set of real-situation constraints of approximate micro-grid system will also be provided. On conclusion, the great convergence property of genetic algorithm will also lead to a convergence result for the use case.
