Metal roofing system is a relatively new roofing system. Compared to the massive concrete roof, it is favored by engineering and technical personnel because of its light weight, beautiful and easy construction etc. At the same time, with the construction of the major national building, such as sports venues, transportation platform, it has been widely used. Along with the application of metal roofing in our country, it gradually exposes many problems, such as the weak ability to resistance to wind, the poor waterproof. In recent years, metal roofing accident caused by wind has not in the minority, bringing great damage on the national economy and property, even threatening the life safety of the people. So it is of great significance in study on the performance for wind resistance of metal roofing system.With the method of data collection and statistics, this article completely classified metal roofing system in the domestic market from the system form, connecting method and material of the three aspects, making the engineering and technical personnel have a deep understanding on different kinds of metal roofing system and making the selection of the metal roof system by designers more reasonable. Then, the main reasons of accident of metal roofing system were inducted and summarized based on the statistics of accident about wind resistance of metal roofing system, at the same time, with the statistics of final position of damage about domestic related failure test, the main reason that damage occurs between bite panels of metal roofing accident caused by wind is concluded.In view of the standing seam roofs, the part node test and the overall wind resistance test were conducted to analysis the influence factors of bearing capacity of the roofing system through changing the test parameters; The damage rule of the specimens named “three phase” was found out, and the weak spot of bite node was also found out; In addition, through the comparison with the results of the part node test and the overall wind resistance test, the result of the part node test was verified reliable, providing the reference for the node test of metal roofing at the scene.Finally, the article summarized a set of the improved calculation method and strengthening measures for standing seam metal roofing system. Combined with the bearing capacity of standing seam metal roofing system by the part node test, an engineering example of standing seam metal roofing system was calculated to ensure the safety and reliability of the roofing construction.At present, metal roofing market is not perfect enough. To make the metal roofing system at home, good and healthy development, it needs to have the corresponding standards for system management, in both design and calculation, plate production, or installation, the late management.
