Research On The Design Of War Memorial Architectural Space

War memorial architectural space is different from the design of other functional building in feeling expression and function due to its unique architectural art characteristics and special spiritual connotation given by wars.War memorial architecture is something memorable that came into being after the end of the wars.What the wars brought to human beings were disasters and pains that couldn’t be obliterated from their memories,and countless numbers of people got killed or got the members of their family partly dispersed during the wars.A war memorial architectural space has major functions for commemoration,warning and education,inside which aesthetics,psychology and various high-tech means are adopted for the later generations’ understanding of the wars and reflection on the wars.This paper studies the domestic and foreign related practice cases for reference by researching,analyzing and comparing the topic background as well as the war memorial architectural spaces at home and abroad,determines a conceptual design direction for war memorial architectural space by researching the design orientation of war memorial architectural space from a perspective of spatial feelings,expression tactics and visual lexicons,inquires into conceptual design vocabularies by summarizing expressive semantic features,emotional conceptual lexicons and symbols,and makes an in-depth research on war memorial architectural space from a perspective of concern for human existence using symbolic and metaphorical means.
