With the rapid development of world economy, more and more irregular building. In China is an earthquake-prone country, hebei tangshan earthquake in 1976, 2008 wenchuan earthquake in sichuan, qinghai yushu earthquake in 2010, has caused a great loss to the state and the people's life and property, so it becomes very important to study the seismic performance of structures. At present, the seismic analysis method is the most commonly used in modal analysis, response spectrum method and time history analysis method.Based on the extensive reference on the basis of research achievements at home and abroad,in the calculation of irregular structure response spectrum method and time history analysis method were compared.In this paper, based on the finite element software SAP2000 to a cruciform plane irregular concrete frame structure response spectrum analysis and time history analysis,study the stress distribution under the action of the earthquake and the dynamic characteristics, designed to provide some reference for such project. This article main research content is as follows:1. The first introduces the current research situation of domestic and foreign scholars on seismic and the type of plane irregular structure and decision conditions. Then the structural seismic theory and its development situation has carried on the system in detail.2. Using SAP2000 software established a seven layer cross plane irregular structure model, get the structure layer is analyzed with response spectrum method between the displacement and interlayer displacement Angle and determine structure whether meet the requirements of seismic code; Determine the position of the weak layer. Finally using the linear time history analysis method calculated the displacement between layers of floor and interlayer displacement Angle, make the horizontal and vertical displacement of the envelope, to further study the irregular plane cross structure seismic performance.3. An analysis of the energy dissipation damping cross plane irregular structure,mainly for energy dissipation by setting the damper damping, to compare the analysis of structure with and without damper seismic performance, suggesting that damper Settings for the significance of building structure seismic.
