With the rapidly increasing of car production, energy and environmental issues as well as comfort, higher security requirements prompted the vehicle development in the electric direction and the diversity of the electronic components. Due to the high degree of electronic vehicle control systems, the proposal of OBD-II (On-Board Diagnostics-II) concept and hand-held fault detector use limitations. Therefore, the study on wireless messaging device OBD (On-Board Diagnostics) system has practical significance. By transmitting diagnosis information to a remote server,the OBD system rationally utilized it's capacity and speed advantage and integrate the variety of car models of fault diagnostic data, combined with the GIS(Geographic Information System) digital maps, thus located the position fault vehicles. Developing a variety of diagnostic and warning procedures and accordingly administrating the running state of the vehicle could effectively reduce the impact of security risks on vehicle traffic safety. Therefore, under the premise of full use of OBD-II function and the use limitations of existing hand-held fault detector, we carried out the research of online monitoring and control of automobile and vehicle information management system. Details are as follows:(1) We study on vehicle general communication service demand that meets the ECU (Electronic Control Unit) communication. The communication function module of OBD-? system is developed, which achieves the communication with the vehicle electronic unit. Moreover, we study the protocol matching technology that compatible with multiple vehicle bus communication protocol.(2) We study on the telecommunication level data transmission platform that supporting car online communication, which achieving the vehicle detection and positioning data fusion and online feedback.(3) The fusion technology of vehicle information and GIS information is studied, which achieved the integration and consolidation of vehicle information and commercial map and GIS system. Moreover, an efficient management method for vehicle information is studied, which can carry out the full link information feedback and application of vehicle fault.(4) Using the actual vehicle test methods to check the validity of the actual development of the system.
