High-pressure pipelines (HPP) are widely used in nuclear power and thermal power industries. Leakage happening to HPP in enclosure space will bring about disastrous consequences, explosion venting device has been designed and applied to rapidly release over high gas pressure outside in order to guarantee safety of architectural structure. Start from the practical engineering of VVP/ARE compartment explosion safety design in Hong YanHe Nuclear Power Plant (NPP) located in the cold region. Conduct the research of compartment antifreeze block design and the key mechanical parameters of Explosion Venting Window (EVW). And in light of the shortages of explosion venting design, preliminary experimental research is carried out on explosion key parameters for large scale space. The main content are shown as following:Numerical simulations of explosion pressure distribution are performed for different sealing compartments under the leak before break accident. Based on the construction site conditions, the key mechanical parameters of the explosion venting device are obtained due to the assumptions of opening process and the opening amplitude of the venting device.According to opening pressure, opening period and amplitude, based on aerodynamics and experimental mechanics, a set of experimental test system is designed and implement for the original size of EVW, the key mechanical design parameters, such as opening pressure, opening period and amplitude are obtained on the prototype EVW under designated blast load.Aiming at the deficiency in the experimental test of the prototype explosion venting window, due to the unsatisfied of initial version of EVW, together with the combination of EVW structure features and field conditions, a new design scheme is given to satisfied the pressure relief needs.Research on key parameters of explosion venting in large scale space is carried out on the basis of the disadvantages of venting design specification in present stage. The principle of explosion load is obtained due to the numerical and experimental analysis. The achievements can be used to provide the guidance and reference for explosion venting design.
