As the society has continued developing, high-rising buildings are becoming more and more. Wind load, as one of dominating loads, severely affects the high-rise buildings which own the characteristics of high altitude, low damping, great flexibility and light mass and thus are more sensitive to the wind, and is considered in the process of structure design. The research of wind effect of high-rise buildings has become a hot topic, which owes to several factors hereinafter mentioned. They are rapid developing high-rise buildings, the complexity of building styles, frequently occurring wind induced disasters and the sensitivity of high-rise buildings to the wind load. In this thesis, wind effect about high-rise buildings is analyzed and calculated, based on the data about high-rise building model got in wind tunnel test.At first, the great effect of high modes on wind induced response is taken into consideration in the analysis process, which is caused by such factors about the high-rising buildings as their growing diversity, asymmetry of plans about the high-rising buildings and the non-orthogonality of the modes. A high-rise building, as an example, is chosen in this thesis to analyze the wind induced response, which specializes in the effect of non-orthogonal modes, combing the wind time history data of different points on the surface of the model obtained in wind tunnel test. The results show that for the high-rising building with asymmetrical style and non-orthogonal modes, only the first order mode is considered while wind induced response is calculated, can errors be greater, in addition with that first few modes significantly influence wind induced response.Secondly, because wind induced internal pressure accounts for a large proportion, compared with external pressure, when building structures and building envelops are employed in wind resistance design, internal and external pressure will cause significant peak wind loads, resulting in destruction in low-rise houses, large-span structure roof and building envelops. Therefore, a prototype located in Wenzhou is employed in this thesis to conduct wind induced internal pressure test about one floor in wind tunnel. In this test, with the remained floors and partitions in the model, tiny holes in the facades and doors in the internal partitions are utilized to keep the air flowing and it is the effect that the hole area and incident wind angles on the internal and external pressure of facades and internal pressure of floors are analyzed. The research on wind induced internal pressure of high-rise building can be a reference for further fields such as wind load of high-rise building surface and wind resistance design. This thesis explores wind effect of civil high-rise building and wind induced response of gas holder belonging to industrial architecture. There are close relations between wind resistant performance of the gas holder which is an important industrial structure and can contain about hundreds of thousands of cubic meters gas and such fields as the normal production in the enterprise, the normal life about of the city residents and even the social stability and safety. Therefore, conducting the research about wind resistance performance is of great importance in practical engineering. This research measured wind induced response characteristics of a gas holder which owned a capacity of 300,000 cubic maters and was affected by the typhoon Danas. The paper not only analyzed the acceleration response about each key part of the gas holder but also obtained the distribution situation about acceleration response along the height of the gas holder, according to the measured wind field and measurement data about structure response. The specific results can act as a reference for wind resistant design and relevant research of similar structures.
