In recent years, more and more high-rise buildings were built, which makes investigators in wind engineering face lots of challenges. A452m high-rise building is taken as the background in this thesis. Based on rigid model pressure measurements wind tunnel tests on rigid model and force measurements wind tunnel tests using high frequency force balance (HFFB), the wind loading and its responses are especially investigated in this thesis. Comparison study on the results obtained from pressure measurements and force measurements, including base forces, accelerations on building top and effective static wind loadings, etc., are conducted in detail. The research is summarized as follows:First, the wind disaster, development status and future trend of the world’s high-rise buildings are introduced. Also, rigid model wind tunnel test and the calculation method of the equivalent static wind loads are briefly introduced in this paper. In addition, study history of wind-induced interference effects is reviewed.Second, based on the synchronization pressure wind tunnel test, wind pressure coefficients on building surfaces are analyzed. The horizontal and vertical coherence of wind pressure on building surface is discussed through correlation coefficients of wind pressures. The wind-induced interference effect was studied on different aspects.Third, considering the first4sway modes and the first torsion mode, wind induced responses of the high-rise building, including displacements and accelerations on building top, are investigated. Furthermore, the contribution of higher order modes to structure responses and occupancy comfort validation was discussed. According to GBJ50019-2012method, the distribution of equivalent static wind loading of the building along the building height were studied. Finally, the base moment spectra obtained from HFFB on the building was analyzed and adopted to study the wind-induced response by means of frequency domain method, and the aerodynamic coefficients and equivalent static wind loads of structure are investigated. The results obtained from pressure measurements wind tunnel tests and HFFB wind tunnel tests are carefully compared.
