Xinjiang power grid is a large country, and the overall relative power grids space truss structure is relatively weak. It contains many weak connection contact transmission over long distances. To solve the situation in Xinjiang power grid, this paper focuses on the construction of the energy storage system and access to certain areas to suppress the effect of the system low frequency oscillation of power grid.In this article, first elaborated the research background and large-scale wind power grid brings a series of problems, at the same time, the concept, classification and application of energy storage systems, etc to do a brief overview, the mathematical model and control strategy, energy storage system for large power system analysis software PSASP 7.0 simulation platform building energy storage systems. Considering the regional power grid are large-scale wind power grid, using the method of eigenvalue analysis and time domain simulation, the field disturbance, short-circuit fault, wind speed change system under small disturbance, the simulation analysis of energy storage system can indeed have the suppression system low frequency oscillation effect.Based on PSASP 7.0 as a research tool, based on the theory of linear system, state space method, based on eigenvalue analysis and time domain simulation method validation method, adopts the quantitative calculation and qualitative analysis, demonstrated the energy storage system on the system low frequency oscillation suppression effect.This article relying on the ministry of Science and Technology "national special funding for International Science and Technology Cooperation", the project number: 172013DFG61520, "International Science & Technology Cooperation Program of China" Efficient and reliable wind power generation system key technology research of cooperation.
