Axial field variable flux permanent magnet synchronous motor is a kind of new special motors which can be achieved in magnetic field strength adjustable.In this paper,the flux switching principle and permanent magnet synchronous motors were combined,a novel topology was posed,its working principle was analyzed,the electromagnetic design method of the motor was studied,the structural parameters were optimized,and the electromagnetic characteristics of the motor were explored deeply.It may provide a certain amount of theoretical foundation and technical support for the development and application of this motor.This paper mainly carried out the following aspects and made several achievements:1.The motor topology structure determination.Some typical permanent magnet synchronous motors and their advantages and disadvantages are analyzed,which based on combine with the development trend of domestic and international permanent magnet synchronous motors.A new motor with simple structure,better performance is proposed,and its magnetic circuit and working principle are analyzed.2.The electromagnetic design.According to the traditional electromagnetic design,the electromagnetic design approach which appropriate for this motor is selected.The structural material properties,winding design and the basic size equations of the motor are determined.3.Optimization design of the motor.The main structure parameters including the shape and thickness of permanent magnets,the length of the air gap,the thickness of windings and the stator tooth and slot width were optimized by adopting the parameterized sweeping module in the software of 3D finite element analysis on the basis of considering winding linkage and EMF and cogging torque.It will improve the overall performance of the motor.4.The electromagnetic properties calculation.Establishment of a three-dimensional model of the motor,the electromagnetic properties of the motor including the distribution of magnetic field,no-load back EMF and flux linkage,the air gap flux density,location torque and inductance are calculated.It may verify the reasonableness of the motor design.
