In recent years, with rapid development of China's economy, inkjet printer occupies the primary role in printer industry and gradually replaced the traditional printing equipment for manufacturing enterprises with the purpose of improving the production efficiency. The demand for inkjet printer grows gradually. However, the domestic large character inkjet printer lagged behind and most of which is imported to meet domestic demand. Large character inkjet printer imported from abroad are of good quality and stable performance, but the price and maintenance cost is high, and its interface is too complex to operate if without strict training. As a result, it can't completely meet the actual production requirement of our country only by imports. In present, domestic large character inkjet printer has some disadvantages. Firstly, controller still uses 8-bit microcontroller with limited processing ability and the system function structure is monotonous. In addition, the ability to edit the printing information is limited, for example, it does not support the Pinyin input method which is mainly used to input Chinese characters, and patterns cannot be edited as well. Secondly, it not allowable to adjust the height of the spray printing character by rotating the nozzle. Thirdly, there is no PC software for users to edit custom spray print information. Finally, Man-machine interface is not friendly enough and the performance is pretty unstable.To solve the aforementioned problems, this paper proposes a designed scheme of control system of big character ink-jet printer based on S3C44B0X. The S3C44B0X introduced by Samsung is the 16/32 bit RISC processor with low power consumption, low-cost, excellent performance, which meets the designed requirements of large character Inkjet printer. The specific research results and content of research are as follows:(1) This paper analyzes the development situation of the inkjet printing as well as the problems existed in the current large character Inkjet printer. Combining with the technical requirements of large character Inkjet printer, this paper proposes the designed scheme of control system of large character Inkjet printer based on S3C44B0X and the overall architecture of the system.(2) This paper completes the circuit design of control system of large character Inkjet printer, including core board, nozzle driver module, optoelectronic switch input interface, encoder input interface, membrane keyboard interface, LCD interface, power supply module, makes PCB according to the circuit principle diagram and finishes the PCB welding and testing.(3) This paper finishes the software design of control system of large character Inkjet printer, including human-computer interaction interface, membrane keyboard scanning, LCD driver, K9F2808 driver, spray printing information storage, spray print data processing and spray printing control.(4) This paper develops supporting PC software for users to edit custom spray printing information, designs communication protocol between PC software and large character Inkjet printer. The spray printing information is sent to large character Inkjet printer via a serial port.(5) This paper tests the large character Inkjet printer repeatedly and solves the problems in the testing process. After optimizing, the large character Inkjet printer operated smoothly and the performance meets the expected requirements.The control system of large character inkjet printer is characterized by plentiful system function and friendly operation interface. When editing spray printing information, users can input 5x5,5x7,16x12,16x16 dot matrix characters through the membrane keyboard, and the Chinese character is input using Pinyin input method. Users can also edit patterns, clock, serial number and shift. The height of the printing character can be adjusted by rotating nozzle. In addition, it also supports spray printing left and right reverse and spray printing upside down. The ink dot size, character width and printing delay are adjustable as well. This system can store up to 50 pictures and 50 printing information, with length of up to 1000 units for each single part. The specifications of picture are 255x16 with lattice structure. The large character Inkjet printer can be connected to a photoelectric sensors, which is used to detect the printing objects. It can also connect an encoder in non-uniform production line, where the inkjet printer can controls the spray printing speed basing on the output pulse signal of the encoder. Moreover, this paper develops PC software for users to edit custom spray printing information. The large character inkjet printer works very well when testing in the laboratory environment, performance indicators of which meets the technical requirements. Consequently the large character Inkjet printer can meet the domestic practical production requirements.
