Simulating the star radiation, the main function of the star simulator, is used to calibrate the star sensor. Stray light measurement can be used to validate the capability of optical systems to suppress stray light. In the traditional test method, more than one tester is needed. At the same time, the process of setting instruments and handling instruments' data are manual. Such a conventional test method is complex in operations and low in inefficiency. Thus, a method which can simplify operations and improve the efficiency of the test attracts more attention.In this thesis, the instruments' characteristic, the test procedures and the data processing in the test is studied. Firstly, a method for designing testing software is proposed. The designed software can assist testers to control instruments and to process data. It can also protect the optical instruments in a stray light test. Secondly, the thesis discusses the design and implementation of the software. This software has the process control module, the device control module, the data acquisition module, the data processing module, the data storage module and the display module. The relationship among these modules is discussed and then the implementation of each module is detailed.Finally, in order to verify the feasibility of the software designed in this thesis, we carried out a software test in the laboratory. Firstly, we conducted a star simulation test with the software. The software calculates the position of the variable aperture according to the test parameters, and asks the variable aperture to move to the specified location. After that, it saves the data in the excel file. Secondly, we conducted the stray light test with the software. The software sets up the instruments and records the data. And then it displays the results. After confirmation of the tester, the software generates test reports. The result of the software test shows that the software designed in thesis is feasible. And with the help of the designed software, the number of testers is reduced and the testing process is simplified.
