The distribution network reconfiguration is an important function of the distribution automation. The network reconfiguration which does not need additional investment, simply through optimizing the structure of the network, will be able to play to their potential distribution network and realize the economy and safety at a lower cost, with great economic and social benefits. Based on the above background, this article has done some research focusing on the method of power flow calculation required in the course of the distribution network reconfiguration, the whole thought of the distribution network reconfiguration, the method of multi-objective distribution network reconfiguration and optimization of the switch operation policy.Firstly, the article introduces the method of the radial network load flow calculation and the method of the network flow analysis of a single ring needed mainly in the process of distribution network reconfiguration. The paper proposes a method of the radial network load flow calculation based on graph theory. This method analysis the network topology using the depth search of the graph theory to break the network down into multiple radial networks and transforms the network with random number into a network in line with the numbering rule of the traditional back/forward sweep method and uses the traditional back/forward sweep method for power flow calculation then. In addition, the paper introduces a method of the network flow analysis of a single ring in which the closed loop point is broken down into two polar opposite and equal voltage source based on the superposition theorem, then the network is broken down into a radiation network and a purity ring and two parts of flow are superimposed to get the flow of the whole network finally.Secondly, this paper describes the overall idea of distribution network reconfiguration, including the distribution network state assessment, the distribution network reconfiguration and the optimization of distribution network reconfiguration switch operation strategy. At the stage of state evaluation, the network loss, the minimum node voltage, the maximum line load rate and other indicators are calculated and are compared with the corresponding thresholds and if there is more limited, then the network reconfiguration. In the reconstruction calculation phase, the method of multi-objective reconstruction based on adaptive weight genetic algorithm is proposed in which the weights are adjusted adaptively based on the effective information of the population, and the optimal solution of each target can be obtained by setting the weights without human. In the stage of the switch operation strategy optimization, a mathematical model of optimal switching operation strategy and genetic algorithm coding method and genetic operation method suitable for sequence optimization are proposed. The validity of the idea and algorithm is proved by a typical example of IEEE33 node.Finally, based on the above content, the distribution network reconfiguration software is developed in the MATLAB/GUI environment. The software has a hidden password login, distribution network based data set, basic information file import, setting contact position switch are assessed for a network, the network reconfiguration algorithm and objective function selection and network reconfiguration, network reconstruction results display and other functions. At the same time, the system also has the source code open, extensible, novel design, reliable operation, easy operation and other advantages. At last, the paper introduces the application of distribution network reconfiguration technology in automation system and the application examples show that reconstruction method can decrease network loss of distribution network, improve voltage quality, load balancing, can better economic benefits.
