The structure of Switched Reluctance Motor is simple, low cost, with wide speed range and high efficiency. It has been paid widespread attention. It also has been successfully applied in various fields. However, its application is restricted in some field because of the highly nonlinear characteristic and unique structure. According to the rotor position detection and control methods, this paper designs and simulates, further to improve the efficiency of motor.The characteristics of switched reluctance motor and its control system are analyzed in this paper. On this basis, the mathematical model is deduced, and all the components of the SRD are analyzed systematically. This paper analyzes the basic control strategy, PID control, and its modeling and simulation with Mtalab/Simulink in depth. Aiming at the key problem of rotor position detection of SRM, this paper proposes a rotor position detection method based on position sensor, and obtains the specific detection process.Taking the three-phase 6/4 SRM as an example, this paper presents the method of single-phase and two-phase detection about rotor position. The corresponding module design and modeling simulation experiments are carried out through Matlab/Simulink, also the related simulation results are analyzed. The results show that its can achieve the accurate phase change and high performance rotation, and verify the reasonable and feasible to improve the control efficiency of the motor.Finally, this paper converts the simulation model into the code, which can be used in embedded devices. The application testing of the SRM are summarized and discussed, also points out that need to be improved and further studied.
