Urban water-supply system is an important urban infrastructure, but it consumes a lot of energy, possessing high saving potential. Due to the complexity of water-supply system and involvement of various aspects, there are still a lot of problems in our country's present urban water-supply systems. Unreasonable phenomena exist in optimal operation of water supply,planning of pipe network and other aspects, which results in low utilization of energy, not only making waste but also increasing the cost of water supply enterprises. The energy-saving research of urban water-supply systems in this article is mainly composed of three aspects, the forecast of urban water consumption, the macro model establishment of water supply network and the optimal operation of water-supply systems.The optimal operation of water-supply systems is based on the accurate forecast of the urban water consumption, and also a vital parameter of the macro model establishment of water supply network. The accuracy of forecast of water consumption is directly related to the reliability and accuracy of the whole urban water-supply system. This article introduces the concept of model group in the forecast of the urban water consumption and classifies the forecast models of water consumption, and then forecast the water consumption in Changsha city through the method of regression analysis.The model of water supply network is the hydraulic constraint of the optimal operation of the urban water-supply system, closely related to the optimal operation of water-supply network, the accuracy of the macro model establishment of water supply network has important influence on the reliability and stability of optimal operations. The research on the model Establishment of network's dynamic in Changsha city is based on the BP macro model of water-supply network, to understand the changes of water-supply network in Changsha city accurately and provide accurate data decisions to the optimal operation of water-supply systems.Based on the second level optimal operation model of water-supply system through genetic algorithm. Genetic algorithm is applied in the model that contains continuous and discrete variables, constraints of equality and inequality, compared to the traditional linearprogramming method, dynamic programming method possesses advantages including high computational efficiency and high accuracy. There is high randomness in the search mode of the use of genetic algorithm, which has strong applicability in the optimal operation of the urban water-supply system through the practice of genetic algorithm, and the global optimal solution obtained is closer to the optimal solution. On the premise that the first level optimal operation model can satisfy users' water consumption and water pressure in the water-supply system, regard the minimum of total energy consumption as the objective function; the second level optimal operation model is based on the first level optimal operation model to optimally combine the pump and water plant's pump, regard the minimum shaft power as the objective function to establish a mathematical model. Through the optimal computation of the water-supply system in Changsha, the total energy-saving rate reached about 8%, which has strong applicability.
