It has been 70 years since the Prestressed Concrete Cylinder Pipe(PCCP)appeared. As the birth of PCCP,it had been used in all kinds of practical engineering because of its good performance.Based on the project The key techniques of PCCP of Henan Provincial Department of Science, the PCCP in Nanyang section of the South-to-North Water Transfer Project was taken as the research object in this paper, and the 3-D contact analysis model of the PCCP was established by using the large finite element software ANSYS Workbench. Then the contact analysis was conducted and the safety of the selected PCCP was proved. The main contents and conclusions of this thesis are as follows:(1)By referring to some data, the structural characteristics and engineering application of PCCP were briefly introduced, and the research status of PCCP at home and abroad were summarized.(2)The contact problem and the finite element software ANSYS Workbench and its contact types were briefly introduced.(3)The structure calculation theory about PCCP was briefly introduced and applied to the actual project of the middle route of the South-to-North Water Transfer Project.(4)Considering the different contact types, the actual calculation models of PCCP were analyzed and compared, and the suitable contact type—Bonded contact type was selected.(5)The PCCP in Nanyang section of South-to-North Water Transfer Project was taken as the research object and the contact analysis was carried out.Five different load cases were considered and the distribution of pipe stress and contact stress were obtained. The results show that the selected pipe section is secure under normal operating conditions.
