With the rapid development of man's life, the electric power is playing an essential role in our lives. The Zinc-oxide Surge Arrester(MOA) plays a crucial role to protect the power system for normal operation. However, due to poor sealing in the factory, internal moisture during the installation of moisture intrusion or long-term work at the power frequency voltage.The Zinc-oxide Surge Arresters surge in operation sometimes is easy to age. And serious moisture or aging would cause the loss of the power-protect function. To solve this problem,we designed a system named Zinc-oxide Lightning Arrester On-line Monitoring System and can monitoring the health condition by operating MOA system.The operate-condition of MOA can be noted by measuring the size of its resistive current harmonics. In this thesis, the characteristics and monitoring methods of MOA were analyzed by comparison. Meanwhile, Fundamental current and third harmonic currents are consider as the object which will be monitoring. We used Matlab and Simulink simulation platform for dynamic MOA simulation model. This article designs the hardware circuit which is assembled by DSP(TMS320F28335) and 24-bit A/D(ADS1256) as the core of the MOA-line monitoring device. The system can be synchronized acquisition MOA leakage current and bus voltage signal extracted MOA respectively by CT and PT current and voltage. The extracted signals are processed through the signal conditioning circuit, and then the results will be send to DSP processor for further action. CCS3.3 software is used in the process of preparation for the corresponding subroutine. The bluetooth can be used for the transfer of the data. PC interface is designed by using Visual C ++ 6.0 software. Through this interface, workers can be more intuitive about the performance and monitoring of arrestor. The system is used for the safety of workers, it also saves a lot of manpower and material resources at the same time.
