As one of the five part of power system, power transmission connected plants and users plays an important role of transmission and distribution of electrical energy. At present, the architecture of electric power grid in western Inner Mongolia mainly adopts the 500 kV overhead transmission lines, the application of three-phase ac transmission form. Routine line maintenance mainly focused on prevention and control of bird-damage, electrical hardware defect inspection and overhead ground wire maintenance three aspects. In the aspect of prevention and control of bird-damage, the existing anti-bird device provide a single model which resulting in a decline in repelling ability because birds have gradually adaptability. In power hardware defect detection, the different area of hardware placed in tower caused detection blind area which impact the safe and stable runs of transmission lines. Overhead ground wire lifter and messenger wire hoist are general used in the daily overhead ground wire maintenance. But the using range of these two tools are limited, can't meet the actual demand.Analysis the three common problems above and Summarizes the advantages and disadvantages of the existing anti-bird device, combined with advanced of foreign anti-bird technology, developed a new type of intelligent multimode anti-bird device meet the requirements of effectively driving the birds away;a new kind of hardware detection device, has been designed effectively solve the problem of hardware detection blind area which based on the theory that the principle of wireless data transmission reduced visibility; To ascend earth wire in the process of repair of the defects in the tool, from the current ground improvement method, this paper developed a earth wire promotion auxiliary tools, to better meet the practical requirement of ground maintenance.This paper recorded the data investigation of general problems had been found during routine line maintenance of existing anti-bird device? power hardware defect detection and methods of overhead ground wire-lifting from the perspective of engineering application. Describe the analysis of data and design scheme for new smart anti-bird device, power hardware defect detection of 500 kV transmission line, overhead ground wire-lifting tool. Then explained the principle of these project and improve these three existing tools through lots of research and finally discuss the effect of practical application through actual use.
