The High-level Water Collecting Cooling Tower comes to be a new choice for the thermal power unit when they build the cooling tower,because it has the characteristics of energy saving,safety and low noise. The striking characteristics of high-level water collecting cooling tower is that the collecting tank is cancelled at the bottom of the tower and the cooled circulating water is collected by the collecting water device and sent to the circulating cooling system.This paper using porous media model,?-? turbulence model and Boussinesq approximation assumption, has conducted numerical simulation research on the main characteristic––the collecting water device,which come from one of two towers belongs to a 3×390MW unit and the performance of the heat exchanger,by means of FLUENT software.When simulate varing operating conditionns models of different inlet water temperature and different droplet diameter were set up respectively in this paper.When the inlet water temperature rises,the increment of outlet water temperature is less than that of inlet water temperature.The heat transfer quantity of high-level water collecting cooling tower increase.Using the small diameter water nozzle can effectively increase the heat exchange amount. The outlet water temperature is nearly linear with the environmental temperature, and the environment humidity is more effective to the outlet water temperature under the environment of high temperature. In addition,the parameters and the changing trends of each region can be obtained by means of simulated calculation on different seasons' working conditions.During the stage of simulating optimized of the collecting water device calculation models were presented for three kinds of slope angles in this paper.And then the simulating calculation were carried outunder same operating condition.In consideration of that there is relationship between the number of the collecting water device and the dip angle of collecting water plate.we draw a conclusion that when the angle is 45°, the tower has a uniform flowfield distribution,and a lower outlet water temperature.In addition,the arrangement height of the collecting water device has been researched.In this paper,three models were set up for varies height between the collecting water device and packing area.The calculation were conducted under same operating condition. we draw a conclusion that:When the height of collecting water device is 9m, the outlet water temperature is ideal.
