With the rapid development of large capacity thermal power units and technology of nuclear power mellowing gradually,as well as the verified of AP1000 nuclear power main pump,according to the newest?Medium and long term development plan of Nuclear power(201 1-2020)?,and the precondition of insuring the nuclear power safety,our country is promoting the construction of nuclear power stably.Thus as one of the most important part of power plant cold end—the cooling tower,its function highlights inch by inch.The thermal performance of natural craft cooling tower affects the stable and efficient run of power plant.And with the increasing of units capacity,the drenching area would also expand to follow.When the drenching area expands,because of the differences in process layout from conventional cooling tower,the high-level water collecting cooling tower has more advantages in efficiency and energy saving,so more people think highly of it.This paper introduces the high-level water collecting technology for cooling tower at first,explain the advantage the high-level cooling tower has on thermal and resistance.Then we establish separately the cooling tower's one?two?three dimensional thermal calculation model and analyze their advantages and disadvantages.Furthermore,we use the three dimensional calculation program we developed recently to conduct the numerical simulation on the 18300m2 high-level cooling tower in Pengze,Jiangxi province as well as optimize the program.And we get some results such as out-tower water temperature,air temperature and density and so on.then we use these data to consult and compare with the result we use one and two dimensional calculation method to get.To study the heat and mass transfer in tower better,we also analyze the vector graphics of temperature and velocity field in tower based on the Fluent platform.Finally,we conduct simulation on the high-level cooling tower under the condition we add in the surrounding wind,and we get the result.Then we use the result to analyze the influences on the cooling tower's cooling effect.We compute the economic changes caused by out-tower water temperature afterwards.
