With continued economic growth, ultra-supercritical technology is developing continuously, 1000 MW ultra super-critical thermal power plant has been widely applied. Large capacity unit control system more complex than before, and distributed control system(DCS) has been widely used in the field of electric power industry. Simulation system becomes more and more important in power plant. It is also developed rapidly to meet the demands of the design, debugging, detection, diagnosis and staff training.Compared to the traditional simulation technology, the virtual DCS based stimulation simulation technology is more effective and economic. This paper takes simulation system of Xu Zhou 1000 MW ultra super-critical thermal power unit for example, introducing the composition and function of simulation system form design, debug and application.Firstly, this paper introduces the incentive formula simulation system's hardware, software and configuration based on virtual DCS. Theoretical modeling is researched for some typical devices, heating surface, fans, turbine, etc. Through the detailed mechanism analysis of the process model, giving the main input, output, and intermediate variables. Through the actual operation of the unit equipment and systems analysis, build each emulation subsystem, and gives each subsystem constitutes simulation interface picture. The simulation method based on virtual DCS control system, implementation steps, system configuration, etc. are described. This emulation mode control system with high fidelity, not only the training of operating personnel, as well as thermal control personnel can be trained to control the configuration and optimization. Finally, the debugging methods and precautions are introduced. Simulation system was tested by varying load experiment and RB experiment. Experimental results show that the simulator is consistent with the unit operating characteristic, it can be used to train the plant staff.
