In recent years, China’s 220 kV transmission line project is more, tower type has been very mature. State Grid Corporation of general module design of tower type is very rich in species, route selection room for tower type is great, but with the rapid development of economy, route especially city and its surrounding areas are more restricted, routing Pitiao also get more and more difficult, to under the limited route corridor as far as possible to meet the transmission capacity, so some time code design of tower type cannot fully meet the needs of practical engineering. And each project selection of tower type is mainly determined in voltage level and line along the terrain, traffic conditions, along the economic development.In this paper, through research on the supply used in the electric circuit of self-supporting tower and used for tower type insulation cooperation and lightning protection, radial clearance and fittings, tower head electrical size, tower load and structure form optimization study. And to carry out the application of related technology modeling. Combined with the author’s experience in the engineering practice, summed up some personal ideas, comparative tower indicators for the whole project cost, safety, environmental effect size, from the tower head electrical size, slope of the tower, tower body section form, tower cross interval set, power lines, root size, ground transportation convenience considerations, the existing and optimization of tower of calculation and economic comparison. After calculation and comparison of the proposed optimization scheme for the indicators, and strive to final optimization that tower type can try to perfect the meet the electrical safety and reliable structure and regulations under the premise, with the light tower weight and is applied, and the maximum protection environment does not affect the surrounding vegetation and power grid construction cost savings.
