In the whole power networks supply system, transmission line is the important pillar of electric power transmission. Transmission-tower is also the critical infrastructure of the transmission line, the safe and reliable operation of tower is important premise of stable operation on the transmission line. As the continuous development of electric power construction, the possibility of collapsed-tower caused by the extreme icing loads and wind loads which is loaded on the tower will be also increasing. And, the mechanical properties of comprehensive grasp transmission tower under the action of the icing loads, wind loads and settlement of tower-leg, conductor and ground wire, the analysis on coupling effect of the tower-line system model will be importantly research significance for the analysis on the collapse of the transmission-tower.Firstly, the finite element models on the transmission lines main components such as tower, conductor, ground wires, insulator string, hardware is established respectively by the ANSYS simulation software. Combining the actual connection relation of all kinds of the parts, and coupling connections between the different units, and the finite element model of tower-line system will be finally established.Secondly, considering the transmission-line geometric nonlinear effect on the mechanics characteristics of large deformation, according to the loads calculation formula of transmission-tower, tower-line system structure, combining with the ANSYS simulation software, and all kinds of applied loads and constraints of the connection location for the transmission-line space model will be completed.Again, the finite element model of tower, transmission-line tower-line system has been the research objects, the mechanical characteristics of different states that is the uniform icing, uneven icing, wind loads and settlement of tower-leg will be analyzed. The main stress value with key links of transmission-tower, tower-line system has been concluded, and the stress changing rule with the different loads of the bars has been analyzed.Finally, icing loads, wind loads of the tower, tower-line system will be obtained by the theoretical formula and mechanical sensor on-line monitoring, and loaded into the finite element model respectively. It is analyzed for the models, the key link stress of the tower and tower-line system will be comparative analyzed for the two cases. The results will have been analyzed comprehensively, the stress value will be accurately concluded.The optical fiber stress sensor with the on-line monitoring platform has been designed for the on-line monitoring and failure mechanism study of transmission-line tower stress in the paper. Based on the on-line monitoring and the ANSYS simulation software, comprehensive analysis is concluded: the overload and uneven tension, which is loaded on the tower, is the major cause for the collapsed-tower.
