As "Thirteen Five" plan clearly stated, developing wind, solar and other clean energy has become an overwhelming trend and the issues among which problems concerning about the large-scale development and integration are noticeable. The hybrid wind/PV/energy storage power generation can overcome the inherent defects caused by the new energy's randomness and intermittent to a certain extent. Therefore it is regarded as a beneficial solution for new energy to connect the grid. However, due to many restrictive problems, evaluation and analysis of its operating characteristics and the excavation of advantages has not yet been conducted.In response to these urgent needs, this paper evaluated systematically on the operating characteristics of hybrid wind/PV/energy storage power generation system and was divided into two levels: statistical analysis and data mining. In statistical analysis, a multi-temporal and spatial scale evaluation index system for hybrid power generation system of wind, solar and storage was proposed as a basis to analyze operating characteristics and grid-friendly indexes of hybrid power generation was summarized. In data mining, association rules were introduced into evaluation and analysis and an improved innovative algorithm was put forward, which was applied mainly to further research on generation performance of wind turbines.This article includes the following three parts:(1) Considering the differences of temporal characteristics, a multidimensional evaluation method was proposed. According to the unique characteristics of hybrid wind/PV/energy storage power generation system, a four-level evaluation index system was established including natural resources, equipment monomer, subsystem and hybrid power generation system in the order of energy influx. Each level's indicators are defined in detail and quantitative analysis formulas are given.(2) Based on the above index system, on given system operating characteristic range for this project was analyzed quantitatively. Wind power/photovoltaic subsystems' operating characteristics mainly include distribution characteristics of wind power output, fluctuation characteristics of output, reliability and power generation capacity; hybrid wind/PV/energy storage operating characteristics, as the emphasis of this project, primarily focus on wind and PV complementary characteristics, active power control, and the smoothing effect of energy storage.(3) In-depth data mining analysis was conducted in response to some problems related to the system operating characteristics discovered in the process of statistical analysis. Improved fuzzy function association rules algorithm was then proposed. Taking advantage of the concept of partition, the algorithm changes Boolean association rules into quantitative association rules, and introduces the concept of normal distribution membership function in fuzzy mathematics, which makes the border more reasonable and effective. Finally, this algorithm was applied to the in-depth analysis of wind turbine with worst generation performance in wind farm A.
