Automobile lightweight plays a very important role in automobile energy saving and emission reduction, it has become a hot research topic in the field of automobile industry at home and abroad.The paper took a 12m full load bus body frame of self-owned brand as the research object,based on the investigation of the related domestic and overseas research in the domain,the finite element model of bus body frame was established.First of all,the paper finished the stastics analysis under four typical working conditions(bending condition,emergent braking condition,limited torsion condition,and emergent turning condition).Secondly,the dynamic characteristic of the bus frame had been researched with modal analysis technique.Ten orders's natural frequencies had been calculated and low-order vibration shape of the body structure was studied.Then a frequency response analysis for the bus body frame with excitations of engine was carried out. During the analysis,the dynamic performance of the structure under excitation of engine vibrations was evaluated.Finally,after fully understanding the statics and dynamic characteristics of the body frame,sensitivity analysis and size optimization design was carried out on the body frame structure,got a reasonable optimization scheme, the lightweight design of the body frame was finally realized.
