It’s also the main place for residents activities. Street color is an important part of urban color. Color plays an important role in urban development, such as improving living environment and inheriting history and culture. In order to make full use of color in urban planning, we need to follow several principles, such as the principle of entirety, the principle of uniform color and function, the principle of the historical and cultural heritage.Urban color planning and evaluation is a major research field of our scholars. But it’s lack in the aspect of improvement. This subject make up the vacuity of this field. We expect to put forward constructive suggestions programs in the urban color renewal project. We make respectively use of PCP model and SD method in the evaluation of Sichuan Road in Shanghai. The famous American psychologist George · Alexander· Kelly published book "Personal Construct Psychology" in 1955, marking the birth of the personal construct psychology. Through the study and analysis of this theory found that we can extend this theory to urban streets color evaluation field. We can carry out a scientific evaluation using this theory. Based on evaluation results we can put forward corresponding improvements. Semantic differential is a method to study things using semantic differential scale. It was founded by the American psychologist Osgood in 1957.We put forward specific practical advice for the improvement of Sichuan Road in this research. In order to make contribution to urban renewal in theory and method. Meanwhile summarizes the similarities and differences with the SD and PCP model, and advantages of PCP model. First, PCP model taking integrity and individuality into account compare with SD. This feature is consistent with the Integrated principle in the evaluation of urban color. Second, The data processing of PCP model is more rigor and logic. The method is more rigorous, scientific, and logic.
