Bidirectional Urban Color Planning--A Case Study Of Urban Color Planning In Beijiao Town,Shunde City

"Urban color" is a very rare topic for academia and design practice industry at home and abroad.So far,both theoretical research and practical projects are scarce.Since the reform and opening up,Chinese cities have experienced an unprecedented urbanization construction process in human history.No matter the scale,intensity or speed of construction is amazing,in terms of the number of buildings,China has built in the past ten years.The number of buildings in the western world for a hundred years.Under such ultra-high-speed development,the urban appearance of Chinese cities has undergone rapid and huge changes.At the same time,the "urban color" is basically in a random,chaotic,and autonomous development mode under such a development background.The situation that is valued,even misunderstood,lacks systematic and effective methodological guidance to help our cities maintain an orderly and healthy color update in a dynamic development process,and continuously improve the quality of urban residents’ living environment.This article starts with the analysis of the current status of China’s urban color field,and proposes that there are two levels of color misunderstanding of "urban color" among the public and practitioners in the design industry.The first is"cognitive level misunderstanding".One is "misunderstanding at the operational level",and then analyzes and answers the above two levels of questions by elaborating and analyzing definitions,concepts,theories,domestic and international cases and cases involving the author’s own participation in urban color.Among them,this article cites the author’s own participation in "Shunde Beibei Urban Color and Human Geography Research","Shunde Beibei Urban Color Application Guidelines"and the Beibei mass color activities organized by himself as examples.The proposed arguments are discussed and justified.In the section of "Cognitive Misunderstanding",this article raises the current issue of confusing urban color with scientific color.Through the analysis and discussion of theoretical knowledge,it explains how to define and understand the concept of "urban color",and clarifies that urban color is not Equal to the scientific color index,it should be the overall color intention formed by the color perception in the urban space experience.In the "Misunderstanding at the Operational Level" section,this article proposes that the current design practitioners fail to form an effective methodology at the operational level due to the "cognitive mi sunder standing" when conducting urban color design.There are some subjective assumptions in the choice of research methods and the color design methods.Many urban color design cases are superficial and fail to give a clear and operational design method.Most planning cases have shown little success.Through the case of the author’s own participation,I discuss how to clarify the research objectives and conduct research and design in stages and objects.Finally,this article attempts to sort out a set of urban color operation models under two-way simultaneous action,in order to improve the two levels of problems mentioned above,and proposes that the government-oriented premise should be added to encourage the participation of the masses,two forces Assist each other and complement each other to better improve our urban color system.
