In this paper, the reliability of a circular truss deployable antenna is analyzed and evaluated based on the hybrid reliability model of interval and probability. The main arrangements are as follows.Firstly, the shortcomings are analyzed of probabilistic reliability model and the existence conditions of interval variables are pointed out. Based on this, an interval and probability hybrid reliability model is established, and a new method for solving the hybrid reliability model is proposed.Secondly, the seizure-preventing for synchronous gears of circular truss deployable satellite antenna is studied. The interval and probability hybrid reliability model is built for the synchronous gear pair seizure failure in the ring truss deployable antenna which considers both random and interval variables. The synchronous gear pair anti-seizure reliability is evaluated at different ambient temperatures with this hybrid model. And the results are compared with the reliability evaluated by the probability model in which the uncertainties are all regarded as obeying normal distribution.Thirdly, the failure tree model of a circular truss deployable antenna is established, of which the basic events are divided into three categories. The reliability of sliding event of telescopic rod is discussed by means of experimental apparatus and experimental method, and reliability of sliding event of telescopic rod is obtained. The uncertain parameters in the key bottom events of the circular truss deployable antenna are divided into the random uncertain parameters and interval parameters, and the reliability analysis and evaluation of the key bottom events are carried out by using the hybrid reliability model of interval and probability. The reliability of the bottom event of the circular truss deployable antenna is obtained by the method of investigation. With interval mathematics and probability theory, the reliability of the intermediate event is calculated and the reliability of the circular truss deployable antenna is finally obtained.Finally, the reliability calculation program of the circular truss deployable antenna based on the interval and probability is developed here. With C++Builder, the reliability calculation interface of the circular truss deployable antenna are completed with the capability of human-computer interaction, with which the automatic analysis and calculation of the reliability of the ring truss deployable antenna is no more a problem. And “the reliability analysis module” of the integrated design platform of the large scale satellite antenna is improved.
