In the traffic network, the bridge always plays an important role in the connection and communication of transport. Stone arch bridge occupies a large proportion in the total number of bridges in our country. Due to various reasons, the carrying capacity and service conditions of a large number of stone arch bridges is daily deteriorating.Therefore,it is of great significance to analyze the typical diseases and put forward a new method of technical condition evaluation about the stone arch bridge, which is hope to evaluate its performance more accurately and determine whether to implement external intervention means (such as maintenance, limit load, etc.), and extend its service life. In this paper, the main research contents and conclusions are as follows:1.Introduce the methods of bridge technical state evaluation in Standards for Technical condition Evaluation of Highway bridges, Code for Maintenance of Highway Bridge sand Culverts and Code for Maintenance of City Bridges. Comparison of the characteristics of each methods, it can be concluded that, compared with the other two methods, the method of Standards for Technical condition Evaluation of Highway bridges is more comprehensive, and the contents is more complete. Its deficiency is the multi-level evaluation will increase the workload and the costs.2.By applying the analytic hierarchy process (AHP) method, the weights of components are calculated. The basic principle and steps of analytic hierarchy process are expounded. In view of the basic information of the bridge, an evaluation model of hierarchical structure is established. The judgment matrix is set up, and the relative weights of single element are obtained by the means of sum method and MATLAB procedure. The consistency of judgment matrix is checked. The results show that the AHP can solve the problem of the arch stone bridge weight availably.3. This paper introduces the concept of DER&U evaluation method, the basic principle and the use process. Through the research of stone arch bridge's composed of components, the component classification is carried out, then the detection method and form are developed. By reference to the contents of typical diseases about the arch stone bridge, the standard of criterion about D, E, R and U are defined. Thus, the condition index (CI) and priority index(PI) can be calculated to reflect the condition of the stone arch bridge. A stone arch bridge is investigated in detail as an example.By comparing the calculation process and result, it can be found the characteristics of DER&U method. The analytical results show that the PI relative to the CI can better reflect the current situation of bridge,and it is feasible and scientific for the technical condition evaluation method of DER&U.For the research results,It can provide reference for evaluating the stone arch bridges.
