Combining substructure technique and pseudo dynamic test, substructure pseudo dynamic test can be used for seismic response simulation of structures in large scale, in which the whole structure is divided into physical substructures and numerical substructures and displacement compatibility at boundary of substructures is considered. This test method can be used to not only realistically but also cost-effectively evaluate the seismic response of structures under earthquake loading.Based on the theory of substructure pseudo dynamic test method, a framed structure based test program is developed by using the open source finite element software Open SEES and general script language of Tcl. With this program, substructure boundary condition simulation is investigated and the result has reference value for desiging experiment schemes. The main research content is as follows:First of all, the substructure pseudo dynamic test method is investigated. The basic principle of the method is introduced and several related key problems are discussed, including substructure selection, structural model building, numerical integration method selection and boundary condition simulation. On this basis, the error of substructure pseudo dynamic test is discussed in detail. The research provides a theoretical basis for developing test program.Secondly, the elastic-plastic time history analysis using Open SEES and the implementation of Open SEES based substructure pseudo dynamic test method are presented. The program architecture of Open SEES and the whole process of substructure pseudo dynamic test using Tcl script language are introduced. Some related issues, such as material constitu- tive relationship, cross section type, element type, stiffness matrix, mass matrix, damping matrix, and record and output are discussed in detail. The research using Open SEES and Tcl script language to implement the substructure pseud o dynamic test provides a technology application to the program development.Futhermore, a substructure pseudo dynamic test program based on framed sturcture is deveolped. The program includes several modules: control center, computing center, real-testing machine, etc., The key tech- nology of connecting Open SEES with Net SLab to implement sub structure pseudo dynamic test is discussed. The popwill electro-hydraulic servo test system and the design of the communication interface with the program are also introduced in detail. Depending on the network communication and data exchange based on Socket mechanism in the program, the substructure pseudo dynamic test program based on framed structure was developed successfully. The feasibility and reliability of the program are verified by specific framework examples in the end.Lastly, the application of the subst tructure pseudo dynamic test program based on framed structure is presented. The boundary condition simulation method of column in a frame structure is investigated. The substructure pseudo dynamic test results under three different boundary condition simulations are discussed, and Variable axial force boundary condition of the substructure pseudo dynamic test is implemented.
