The rapid development of the power system in recent decades, regional power grid connected with each other, the power grid is increasingly expanding. The problems such as large fluctuation of load fluctuation and large difference between peak and valley load have put forward higher requirements for the safe and economic operation of power system. In this paper, the classical method is used to study the load economic distribution in the active power optimization of power system. The theoretical analysis and computer programming are carried out to verify the algorithm. The system of network power flow calculation is deduced based on sparse matrix techniques of node admittance matrix is proposed new storage methods, to solve the impedance matrix and to Newton power flow Jacobian matrix formation process is proposed. In the computation time and the storage space, it has been greatly optimized, and the Newton Ralph Xun and DC power flow algorithm are proposed to simplify the algorithm and so on. Finally is to on the basis of established active power optimization model, proposed several active network loss increment rate of the algorithm and is calculated and compared, and the improved algorithm is applied to power system economic dispatch. At the end of this paper, the improved classical method is verified and compared by the IEEE-5 node and IEEE-14 node example.
