The pulverized coal burner researched in this paper is the key components of the continuous asphalt equipment. It has a significance meaning to reduce energy consumption,cost and improve productivity. Therefore, It is necessary to carry out the design and research of pulverized coal burner.Firstly, this paper briefly describes the main research results of the existing pulverized coal burner, and designs a new-type of high mesh pulverized coal swirl atomizing burner for the production requirements of 20t/h asphalt mixture mixing equipment. This paper determines the basic structure model, and studies it's operating characteristics, parameter calculation and structure design of the new-type burner. The vortex atomizer burner device can broke and mix the pulverized coal and air further, and the pulverized coal burns more completely, so it can improve the combustion efficiency and reduce the emission of flue gas.Then, this paper use these methods of numerical modeling, simulation analysis and the experiment to research the new-type burner. It make the theory combines with the simulation and experiment well.This paper introduces the numerical simulation theory of pulverized coal burner and the numerical simulation test of the new-type pulverized coal burner. This study uses the Fluent software to simulate and analysis the internal flow and particle movement of the pulverized coal burner. The part of turbulent adopts the Realizable k-? model and the part of pulverized coal air mixture flow adopts Gas-solid two-phase flow model. According to simulate the different leaf tilt angle conditions, comparative analysis of simulation results,and select the optimum tilt angle. According to different blade Angle simulation test, analysis contrast simulation results, select the best blade Angle. And the experiments show that the vortex atomizer has a positive impact on the pulverized coal air flow, promote the uniform mixture of pulverized coal and air. It tests and verifies the design of the new-type high pulverized coal swirl atomizing burner rationality. The high mesh pulverized coal swirl atomizer designed in this paper can achieve two functions of eddy current and spray.In addition, the high pulverized coal swirl atomizer is tested in asphalt mixing equipment.Through the orthogonal experiment of the wind speed changes has verified the best air velocity. Through the contrast test with the original burner, it validates the new-type burner's energy consumption reduced by 8.2%, flue gas emission concentration decreased by 10%. It achieves both energy saving and environmental protection well. Through numerical simulation and field test, this paper verifies the new-type high pulverized coal swirl atomizingburner can achieve a good performance and effect n the practical application.
